7 Places to Celebrate Dad on Father's Day

KYU NYC is paying tribute to dad on June 18th with a Sunday brunch. Guests can expect innovative, Asian-inspired twists on classic brunch favorites. Highlights include Tuna Crispy Rice, Korean Fried Chicken and the Smoked French Dip with fried egg, grilled jalapeno aioli and black garlic jus. Brunch at KYU NYC will be available from 12pm to 3pm. Reservations are highly recommended to secure a table.

Blu of the Hudson is offering a dad-driven brunch or dinner for Father’s Day. Look for dishes like Steak Frites with 12 oz. NY Strip steak, hand-cut fries, au poivre; Truffled Mushroom Omelette with white cheddar, egg whites, and one yolk with a salad; and Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe with soft egg, aged pecorino, and black truffles. Cocktails include a Breakfast Martini (Bulleit Bourbon, orange marmalade, thyme, lemon, focaccia) and Chocolate Innocence (Tito’s cacao, chocolate, Licor 43).

Two Michelen-starred Jungsik is offering a high end meal for dad. The nine-course menu starts with langoustine followed by Wagyu Gomtang Mandoo, Black Cod, Yellowtail Kimbap; among others. The Signature Menu is priced at $295 per person with the option to add a standard wine pairing for $200, or a luxurious premium wine pairing for $500 that includes bubbles like Dom Pérignon champagne.

Go Italian for dad with a brunch at Bad Roman at Columbus Circle. Brunch options range from baked eggs In Purgatorio with Spicy Tomato Sauce, and Cherry Peppers to Egg Whites Tricolore with Goat Cheese, Spinach, and Roasted Tomatoes. Pasta offering include Short Rib Pappardelle with San Marzano Tomato, and Rock Shrimp Chitarra with Calabrian Chili, Sungolds, and Citrus. For dessert, there is Tiramisu Ice Cream Cake.

London & Martin Co. is showcasing brunch offerings for Father’s Day in the heart of the Financial District. Look for hearty sandwiches like the Smoked Prosciutto Melt, Steak Sandwich and Martin’s Favorite Fried Chicken with turkey sausage gravy. Larger plates bring Steak Frites, Branzino and more. In the martini section of the drink menu there is a 24-Carat Martini perfect for the dad who has everything.

Take dad on a trip to the French countryside at Libertine. Executive Chef and Partner Max Mackinnon’s menu begins with freshly baked sourdough bread served with rich butter imported from France. Plats include Monkfish Á La Normande with a rich sauce of cream, cider and calvados from Normandy; Braised Lamb a La Moutarde served with friseé, black olives, and orange; Duck Breast Au Poivre with duck confit parmentier; and Steak For Two with asparagus and sauce foyot.

Dad might also want to celebrate by way Bali at Ma·dé in NoLiTa from Chef Cédric Vongerichten and his wife Ochi Latjuba Vongerichten. Bites include Lobster Dumplings with caviar; deconstructed Shrimp Toast with citrus chili; Soft Shell Crab with iceburg lettuce and dabu dabu; and Beef Miyazaki with wasabi dressing and yuzu soy. Cocktails include the Tulum (tequila, huacatay, black pepper, cucumber, bell pepper), and The Vineyard (pistachio whiskey, cardamom, velvet falernum, dry gin).
