Live music is lighting up the hotel bistro at The Standard Grill, accompanied by a full menu (think snow crab claws, crispy artichokes, slow-roasted prime rib and more) and imaginative cocktails. The Standard Sessions are happening Thursday evenings from 6pm-9m. This fall’s theme is High Notes & High Vibes.

De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead, returns to The Garret Cocteleria (349 Broome Street) in honor of artists and icons that have passed. The festive setting features seasonal cocktails and small bites including assorted tacos, shrimp ceviche and more. Runs from Sept 21 to November 19. Reservations via Resy.

Rubirosa, the popular Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street, is getting saucy. It’s rolling out Rubirosa at Home, a new line of pantry items starting on October 5th including Marinara Sauce made wiht an exclusive blend of plum and pear tomatoes, Vodka Sauce, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil from a fourth generation family farm in Valle del Belice, Sicily.

Masseria Caffé (891 9th Ave) in Hell’s Kitchen is offering a special deal for National Coffee Day September 29th. Customers will receive a discounted coffee price of $2.00 for any size hot or iced filtered coffee upon purchase of one of their baked goods options such as Cornetto, a soft cream-filled croissants; cream puffs called Bigné, and assorted muffins (blueberry, double chocolate chip, and apple walnut).

Ras Plant Based in Crown Heights is marking World Vegetarian Day on Oct 1st, highlighting two dishes - Mushroom Tibs (Tender white button mushrooms with tomatoes and jalapenos, which is traditionally made with beef) and Mama’s Tofu (Cubed tofu, jalapeño, tomato, and onion, season with Ras’s secret blend of spices) inspired by Chef Romeo Regalli’s mother.

Rockefeller Center is kicking off the new school year with a special performance by The Rock and Roll Playhouse and Dan + Claudia Zanes. Rockefeller Center’s Back to School Family Funday also features special workshops. Expect a glitter-filled, balloon twisting good time! September 24 from 11am to 3 pm at Center Plaza. FREE! Celebrate National Noodle Day at ICHIRAN on October 1st. The restaurant is known for its enticing noodle dishes served in its signature solo dining booths. ICHIRAN has NYC locations in Times Square, Midtown and Brooklyn. Tonkotsu ramen take home kits are also available.

The Tin Building, at the Seaport, is introducing the Spoiled Parrot. The shop features chocolates from all over the world. Guests enter through an archway of lollipops. Made-to-order ice cream, sorbet and sherbert are also available.

Also at the Seaport, a new tall ship has arrived. The training ship Danmark will be open to the public on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th in honor of Climate Week NYC. The tours at FREE.

In honor of National Pancake Day, Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge in NYC is offering an unlimited amount of their over-the-top, fan favorite Pink AF Pancake Stack on Monday, 9/26 for $45. Flavors: Hot Pink Cotton Candy, Bananas Foster, Blueberries, and Apple Compote.

And singing the praises of fermented foods. Twenty Japanese restaurants in New York and One in New Jersey are offering special dishes highlighting fermented Japanese ingredients (such as miso, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and natto - fermented soybeans) to promote their health benefits between September 22 (Thurs) to September 27 (Tues). Participating restaurants include Nakazawa, Bar Moga, Ootoya Chelsea, Nakamura, and Sushi of Gari 46. Full list here.
