To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Mexi in Williamsburg (149 North 9th Street) is offering a flight of three mezcal margaritas now through May 5th, so they'll be available all weekend. "El Tri Margarita" flight uses Aldez mezcal in the three margs - cucumber, coconut, and watermelon - in this homage to the Mexican flag. $24. Mexi is open from 4pm - 11pm nightly. (And they also now have happy hour from 4-6pm Monday - Friday!)

Creamline and Economy Candy are offering a Boozy Margarita Milkshake for Cicno de Mayo. It's a take on everyone’s favorite cocktail for Cinco De Mayo, the Margarita, made with Ronnybrook Farm dairy, a mix of citrus (lemon, lime, and orange), salt, and a shot of tequila, topped with Margarita jelly beans from Economy Candy. The specialty shake will be offered at Creamline's Chelsea Market Location from Thursday, May 2nd, through Thursday, May 16th, to celebrate the holiday.

Chelsea Market is commemorating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with a variety of events, including an Art Show on display through the main concourse; Pearl River Mart’s Annual Sunset Celebration on Friday, May 17; and Asian Creative Festival Pop-Up Market on Saturday, May 17 & Sunday, May 18.

Chef Ileene Cho, formerly of The NoMad, Betony, and L’Appart, is now leading the pastry program at The Noortwyck in the West Village. One of her signature offerings is Korean Sweet Potato Milk Bread inspired by her childhood memories. In celebration of AAPI Month, Chef Cho and The Noortwyck team will contribute a portion of proceeds from each purchase of the Korean Sweet Potato Milk Bread to Heart of Dinner for the entire month of May.

Christie’s will auction off the art collection of television writer, producer, and political advocate Norman Lear and his wife, Lyn Davis Lear, on May 16th. Lear, who passed away in December at 101 years old, is best known for creating sitcoms like “All in the Family” and “The Jeffersons.” Seven works from the collection will debut during the house’s 20th Century Evening Sale, along with additional works. Christie’s says the entire collection is expected to fetch more than $50 million.

The Luisa Diaz Foundation will celebrate a milestone 10th anniversary black tie MAG gala on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 at The Plaza Hotel. The annual event this year will honor a decade of changing lives in communities across America with 2024 focusing on two organizations - Safe Passage Heals and Sanctuary for Families. ICHIRAN, known for its Japanese tonkotsu ramen, is partnering with City Harvest to help feed New Yorkers experiencing food insecurity. Running through May 31st, with every purchase of a take-home ramen kit (original tonkotsu or vegan), at any of ICHIRAN's NYC locations (Brooklyn, Midtown, and Times Square), ICHIRAN will donate one ramen meal to City Harvest. The meals will then be distributed to City Harvest’s network of food pantries across the five boroughs. As a token of appreciation, each customer will receive a special "I Donated" sticker.

Seaport Cinema returns at Pier 12 starting on May 20th with Dirty Dancing. Mamma Mia, A Star Is Born, and Barbie are counted among this year’s flicks. To see the schedule and RSVP click here

It appears roller skating will not be returning to Rockefeller Center this summer. Instead, the iconic Rink is being transformed into an outdoor dining destination featuring al fresco menus from NARO and Jupiter. NARO’s menu features a Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, Soy Sauce Egg Bibimbap, Mango Bingsoo and more, while Jupiter is offering lobster with zucchini fries and a 30 Rock-inspired 30-layer chocolate cake. The outdoor dining is available from May through October.

The Whitney Museum of American Art will offer free admission and special programs all day long on Sunday, May 12. In partnership with The New York Public Library, free storytimes for families and visitors of all ages will continue during Free Second Sundays at the Museum. This is the last Sunday to experience Harold Cohen: AARON with free admission before it closes to the public on May 19. Additional activities include exhibition tours in English and Spanish, artmaking programs, and in-gallery discussions throughout the day.
