Ten Droolworthy Desserts to Try in NYC Right Now

At Gage & Tollner, what‘s old is new again. The 125-year-old restaurant in an iconic Brooklyn Townhouse is serving Baked Alaska for Two. The dessert is made with layers of fresh mint, dark chocolate, & amarena cherry ice cream, chocolate cookie crunch, and toasted Swiss meringue.
Sicily Osteria, which recently opened on New York’s Restaurant Row, is serving up classic Italian desserts. Among them is the Crispelle, a fried flaky dough with orange, honey, and olive oil gelato. Another offering is the Mount Etna, a pistachio lava cake with fig gelato.
KYU, a new Asian-inspired restaurant in NoHo, is offering a Dark Chocolate Smores Cake with toasted meringue and banana-bourbon ice cream. The restaurant is also known for its Mom’s Coconut Cake and Black Sesame Mousse.

The All & Sundae at All & Sundry in Midtown is happiness in a bowl. The sundae is filled with ice cream, brownies, cookies, chocolate, caramel, nuts, sprinkles, whipped cream, cherry and topped with a sparkler. It’s sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

L’Abeille, a stylish new spot in Tribeca led by Joël Robuchon protégé Mitsunobu Nagae, is giving its desserts plenty of French Flair. They include White Chocolate and Orange Blossom with burnt honey ice cream, and Chocolate Sorbet with house-made caramel and hazelnuts.
Lodi, Ignacio Mattos’ fine Italian bakery and café at Rockefeller Center, is turning out delicious treats like Torta Della Passione made with passion fruit curd and white chocolate, and Torta Purgatorio, a hazelnut ricotta cake with praline and chocolate mousse.
Fasano, a luxurious Italian restaurant in the former Four Seasons space, is serving up a simple dessert called Il Gelato Alla Vaniglia Servito Cremoso Con Meringa Italiana where guests get to make their own dessert with homemade vanilla ice cream, meringue and assorted nuts.
At Patti Ann’s, Greg Baxtrom’s homey new restaurant and bakery in Prospect Heights, guests are being treated to old fashioned favorites like a cherry cobbler served in a cast iron pan along with peanut butter and lemon bars.

Francis Staub’s La Brasserie is bringing classic French desserts to the table. Among them - Forêt Noire, a black forest cake, grillotinne (mascerated cherries), vanilla chantilly, and whipped ganache. The restaurant is also serving a banana soufflé with brandy and chocolate sauce.
Baazi, where Chef/owner Gaurav Anand is pushing the boundaries of Indian cuisine, you will find the Jalebi Sandwich, a made-to-order charcoal black Indian style sticky funnel cake filled with vanilla ice cream; and Rose Makhan Malai, rose petal infused crema with milk cake and a rusk (biscuit) crumble.
