Black Seed Bagels is celebrating Lunar New Year with the return of the baogel. Black Seed has partnered with Potluck Club, a Cantonese-American restaurant in Chinatown, to create this latest baogel rendition. The baogel is a combination of a bao and a bagel, using sweet, slow-roasted Cantonese BBQ pork belly made by Potluck Club that is wrapped in Black Seed's bagel dough and served warm.
Two varieties are available: one with everything bagel seasoning, and one that has a sweet bolo topping. The baogels are available at five select Black Seed shops: Nolita, East Village, Williamsburg, Bushwick and Boerum Hill. They are $8.95 each and will be in shops until the end of February.
