We may be losing the Carnegie Deli, but there are plenty of other places to nosh in New York City. Here are a few of our NYC favorites:


2nd Avenue Deli 
Oversized corned beef & pastrami sandwiches, and matzo ball soup.  What could be better? 

Barney Greengrass
From scrambled eggs with lox to smoked salmon platters, all served with a bagel and a schmear.

Black Seed Bagel
Smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion and capers served on a perfect seeded bagel.  Yum.

Breads Bakery
They make the freshest challah bread in the city and a killer chocolate babka.

Katz's Delicatessan 
Knishes, pastrami on rye, potato latkes and blintzes make this spot a perennial favorite.

Lox at the Museum of Jewish Heritage 
Blinis with salmon roe, hand-sliced Sachmaltz herring and poppy seed strudel await.

Mile End Brooklyn
Canadian-style smoked brisket, poutine and sour pickles are among the specialties here.

Petrossian 
A spot to splurge on caviar and smoked salmon, an of course a glass of pricy champagne

Sadelle's 
Handmade bagels topped with things like smoked salmon, tuna and whitefish are a major draw.

Russ & Daughters Cafe
Pastrami-cured salmon, smoked sable and crispy potato pancakes and lots of charm.
