Eating on the Cheap in Times Square

You don’t need to bust the budget to catch a tasty meal in the heart of Times Square. The area is booming with all sorts of cheap eats, affordable drinks and last-minute deals. Here are some of them:
Urban Hawker (135 W 50th St) – Urban Hawker is the first Singapore-style hawker food hall in New York City. With 17 vendors offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options under $20, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.
Margon Restaurant (136 W 46th St) – As one of New York’s best kept secrets since 1970, this woman-owned eatery serves authentic Cuban and Dominican cuisine with their famous Cubano Sandwich as a fan favorite served with rice & beans, all for only $14. Open for breakfast and lunch.

Los Tacos No. 1 (229 West 43rd Street) – This bustling taqueria with a street-style setup (no seating) offers an authentic taste of Mexico with a selection of simple yet flavorful dishes, including tacos for under $6. Try their adobada taco for just $5.25, and be sure to ask for it “con todo” (with everything).
Green Symphony (255 W 43rd St) – Grab the perfect lunch at Green Symphony, which provides a variety of healthy choices including the Seoul Dumpling Bowl with three dumplings, rice, veggies, and a sesame-ginger tamari sauce, all for just $10.95.

All’Antico Vinaio (729 8th Ave) – All’Antico Vinaio offers a taste of Florence and features their popular La Caprese sandwich, the classic Italian combination of mozzarella, tomato and basil, for just $12.
Jimmy’s Corner (140 W 44th St) – Opened in 1971, Jimmy’s Corner is one of the legendary and most beloved dive bars in Times Square. It is named after the late Jimmy Glenn who helped train such greats as Muhammad Ali. Here you can enjoy a no-frills beer, from $3 to $6, while taking in the staggering display of boxing memorabilia covering nearly every inch of wall space.

Gordon Ramsay’s Fish & Chips (1500 Broadway at 44 St) – You will find folks lining up for Gordon Ramsay’s authentic fish and chips. A three-piece combo meal ranges from $14.99 to $22.99 with choices ranging from fish and chicken to a lobster-shrimp combo.
Haven Rooftop (132 W 47th St) – Situated on top of the Sanctuary Hotel, this beautiful rooftop bar promises great views of the city and even better Happy Hour deals, including $6 beers, $9 wines, $10 margaritas, and $12 bites. Happy Hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 pm.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers (1501 Broadway at 44th St) – This newly opened spot is drawing big crowds at this family-friendly spot for its chicken finger combos served with crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, and Cane’s sauce ranging from as little as 8 bucks for a kids combo to a six piece for $19.99.
